I tested it, but it does not work as smooth as I hoped. A simple test case seems works as expected. Maybe it requires a smooth moving speed. It consumes 26mA when on, should works for 50hours. It consumes less than 1uA current when off, unmeasurable with mA meter, so the battery should last storage life if left in it.

It works for me as a hobbyist. Battery connector is awful.
It detects studs, water pipe and wire behind wooden walls so I get what I needed it for.
Be careful when installing 9v battery. It is not full proof so you can install it wrong. What will happen I don't want to find out.
